description

Inspired by the true story of an exorcism, LUZIFER looks at the psyché of a child raised by his mother on the fringes of society.

Johannes (Franz Rogowski, TRANSIT, GREAT FREEDOM, UNDINE) is an innocent, Kaspar Hauser-like man with the heart of a child. He lives secluded in an alpine hut together with his eagle and his devout mother. Daily life in this isolated world is governed by prayer and ritual. But suddenly, modern objects and disruptive noises intrude between nature and worship. A tourist development threatens to poison their paradise and awaken the devil.

press for Luzifer

"With some shocking scenes (but fitting its theme), LUZIFER creates a world of concentrated energy you don't want to visit -and yet you somehow feel compelled to do so."
- Film Is A Fine Affair
"LUZIFER is a modern-day Frankenstein, where boundaries between moral and amoral have been blurred by a distorted interpretation of a strict religious doctrine."
- Screen Anarchy
