Rooftop Screening Series: Summer Camp Flicks
The Calgary Underground Film Festival is back for a second year of our Rooftop Screening Series, held each Monday in August. (5th, 12th, 19th, 26th)
Team CUFF has picked our favourite summer camp films and the staff at Oak Tree Tavern have put together a top-notch themed menu (talking vegetables not included).
All screenings are pay-what-you-can.
We will be screening both on the patio, and inside the pub. Tables are for sharing, and we encourage you to come early to get your perfect spot.

August 5: WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER
We start our series with a star-studded trip to Camp Firewood in 1981. Laugh yourself back to the Stone Age (or the Ice Age, no really the Stone Age) as counselors and campers deal with a falling piece of Skylab, a dangerous waterfall rescue, raging hormones, brief descents into drug addiction, and so much more. Gene's Meatloaf and Mixed Vegetables is on the menu!

August 12: FRIDAY THE 13th PART 4: The Final Chapter
The Friday the 13th series is the benchmark by which other horror at summer camp films, and arguably all slasher films, are judged. Team CUFF thinks that Part 4: The Final Chapter is the high point of the series. Features two-time CUFF guest Crispin Glover’s famous dance scene. You can order Mama Voorhees' Corn Dog and Tater Tots for the special tonight!

August 19: MEATBALLS
Bill Murray’s first starring role! Tripper Harrison and his team of Counsellors-In-Training bring humour to Camp North Star while also trying to beat Camp Mohawk in their annual Olympiad. Camp North Star Spaghetti and Meatballs on Special!

August 26: SLEEPAWAY CAMP
Through special arrangement with Director Robert Hiltzik, we are able to present a rare screening of this shocking classic from the heyday of slasher films. Enjoy Angela's Franks and Beans as the special menu item!
