Anyone with an advance ticket will be emailed with an opportunity to register for the tournament, first come first serve. A very limited number of spots will be available for same day walk-ups. Keep an eye out for a registration email, April 21 @ 10am.

Indie Game Bash, an exhilarating indie game fighting tournament, is coming to the iconic Globe Cinema in Calgary for one night only during the Calgary Underground Film Festival. Get ready for an evening of non-stop action featuring two of the best indie fighting games: TOWERFALL ASCENSION and SAMURAI GUNN 2.

Join fellow gamers, indie game enthusiasts, and talented developers as participants battle it out on a massive theatre screen, showcasing their skills and tactics in these fast-paced, adrenaline-fueled games. Feel the energy and excitement as the crowd cheers on their favorites, with every arrow, sword strike, and epic showdown. Expect some surprises! After the tournament, continue the celebration at The Palomino for an unforgettable afterparty. Mingle with fellow gamers, meet local developers, and enjoy live DJ music inspired by video games. Don’t miss this out, Mark your calendars! 

The 32-person bracketed tournament starts with an elimination round of TowerFall followed by quarter and semi-finals of Samurai Gunn 2 and TowerFall, respectively. The grand final is a 1-on-1 deathmatch of Samurai Gunn 2. In addition to bragging rights and a trophy, the winner can choose an Xbox Series X or a PlayStation 5 as their grand prize.

Developers from the teams responsible for both games will be present and participate in a Q&A session before the start of the tournament. Brendan Hunter (Dragonball, Mobile Suit Gundam, Mega Man: Power Up) will host, moderate the Q&A and commentate on the event. 

TOWERFALL ASCENSION is the definitive version of the hit archery combat game. Inspired by classics from the golden age of couch multiplayer, it’s a 4-player local party game centering around hilarious, intense versus matches. The core mechanics are simple and accessible, but hard to master and combat is fierce.

SAMURAI GUNN 2: 4 player insanity. 2 player duels. 1 player adventure. With just 3 bullets and a sword, fight to survive in this high-flying, one-hit-kill platform fighter.

8:00 PM: Tournament Ends

AFTERPARTY!! The Palomino Smokehouse will host an afterparty at 9 PM with The Great Octopus, Zebra Pulse and GreyScreen playing live sets inspired by video games. (located at 109 7 Ave SW).
