A web of dystopian dating scenarios collide in modern-day New York City as five 20-somethings attempt to find love in a time that has been called the loneliest century.

A Gender Studies masters student, a messy philanderer, an in-denial Sugar Baby, an aspiring cabaret artist, and a professional cuddler are at the core of this dark sex comedy about dating in the post-Covid era. The film takes a surreal turn when two of the characters plot an elaborate revenge scheme that inadvertently unleashes an infestation across New York. Directed by and starring Lucy Powers and Delilah Napier, and based on their own experiences of dating after the pandemic, FLOATING CAROUSEL is a humorous and raunchy look at the transactional nature of our modern day relationships.

DIRECTOR'S BIO
Delilah Napier and Lucy Powers are a writing/ filmmaking team, who have made four films together under Drama House Pictures. Their first feature film, VOYEUR, which they made for $4,000 while undergraduates at Yale, is now on Amazon Prime and won the Best US Feature and Audience Award at the 2020 SoHo International Film Festival. Their short film, THE COMPOUND, won the Special Jury Prize at the Chelsea Film Festival in 2021 and their comedy pilot, VICTOR VERSUS THE METAVERSE, won Best TV Pilot at the Rhode Island International Film Festival. FLOATING CAROUSEL is their second feature. It won the Ultra Indie Award for Best Narrative Feature at the Woodstock Film Festival 2025.
