MAG MAG
Japan, 2025: 113 minutes: Alberta Premieredescription
After her beloved is killed by the MAG MAG ghost, Sanae vows revenge, but soon discovers the true identity of the person she truly owes her revenge to.
"If you see her, it's too late. If she falls in love with you, the only escape is death." First-time director Yuriyan Retriever, Japan's most popular comedian and two-time contestant on AMERICA'S GOT TALENT, MAG MAG reinterprets the world-famous J-horror genre with a fresh perspective. This crazy love story, based on the director's own painful romantic experiences, is a twisted tale that combines horror and humour, delivering a powerful blow to the world.

press for Mag Mag
"Led by a wonderfully off-the-wall performance from [Sara] Minami, MAG MAG is a treat for fans of the subgenre and its tropes. Possessing a bonkers energy (think DRAG ME TO HELL by way of Takashi Miike), it pays tribute to the best of J-horror while very much marching to the beat of its own drum."- Starburst Magazine
"MAG MAG is an effective ghost story that balances chills and humorous thrills in an effective package."- Nerdly
