Australia, 2026: 112 minutes: Canadian Premieredescription
A lovelorn medical student becomes terrorized by a hungry ghost after taking part in an obscure weight-loss craze: eating human ashes.
When Hana runs into an old friend who has lost so much weight she is almost unrecognisable, the first-year medical student is sucked into the world of weight-loss pills, a much quicker shortcut to dropping kilograms than her twelve-week “body transformation” programme at the gym. As her obsession to get slimmer grows stronger, a hungry ghost manifests literally. The Australian modern day body horror written and directed by Natalie Erika James (RELIC, 2020) had its world premiere at the Midnight section of the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.
