An idyllic New Year's getaway in isolated New Zealand takes an unexpected turn when a bad batch of cursed weed unleashes horrific after-effects.

Jules (Alice May Connolly) is on a trip with her new boyfriend and his two stoner friends in the wops of North Canterbury, NZ when they stumble across a long-abandoned stash in an old shed. After a quick session and an accidental murder, the marijuana turns them into enthusiastic cannibals. To cover the evidence of their murder, they decide to keep toking so they can devour the body. What will happen when the meat runs out? Who will be the next victim? The Kiwi production team of Causeway Films, behind the indie hits TALK TO ME (CUFF 2023) and BRING HER BACK (2025), is shaking up the horror world in 2026 with both THE WEED EATERS and THE FOX selected by CUFF this year.

DIRECTOR'S BIO
Based in Auckland, New Zealand, Callum Devlin is a member of the arts collective Sports Team. He co-directed the musical documentary THE BETHS: AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND, 2020. Bassist of the group Hans Pucket and the originator of more than 50 music videos, he has established himself as an essential figure on the local music scene. In 2025, he co-produced, directed and edited his first fiction feature film: the horror comedy THE WEED EATERS.
